I’m often asked what exactly is the practice of Yoga Nidra. If you’ve not heard of it, or experienced this style of meditation before, it is accessible to all levels — whether you’re a veteran to meditation of you’ve never sat before. What you need:
a quiet room
a yoga mat (if you have — or a couple of folded blankets on the floor. You can lie on your bed, but more likely you may doze off this way.)
bolster to place under the knees for extra low back support (if you don’t have, easy alternate options include: throw cushions, pillows, rolled up towels or blankets.)
a blanket folded to place under the head as a pillow (note a regular pillow or cushion may be too thick — the idea is cushion and comfort against the back of the head, while maintaining a neutral neck.)
a blanket to place over top of you (as your core temperature is likely to drop — much like when you sleep.)
an eye pillow (if you have, or easy alternative option is place a scarf across closed eyelids.)
