Woman, you’re not behind.
woman—If you’ve ever felt the tenderness of the tale that you’re behind on something… I wrote this for you.
Even if something feels particularly tender for you right now...
Even if you’re a woman who feels behind while living through these sensations right now...
I’m here to remind you:
You’re not.
When I reflect upon conversations I’ve had in recent months with some of the most legendary women in my circles, the world we live in has made it so easy to feel behind, on one thing or another.
Behind in mothering.
Behind in finances.
Behind on that dream.
Behind in her career.
Behind on a that launch.
Behind in partnership.
Behind in marriage.
So even if any of these moments are feeling particularly alive for you right now, here’s the other piece I want to remind you...
That even when you’re feeling tender…
Creation can happen: your heart can feel wide open, and still, words can pour onto a page.
You can lead with calm confidence: you may not feel top-notch, but you can open a Zoom, drop a word, and remember who walks with you.
Joy is available: your smile may take a moment, and yet, you can pop-on some Whitney, and dance your heart out.
Expansion is possible: your throat may feel blocked, yet when you flex your faith in the unseen, the moment you hit that little audio button, something can pour from you that you had no idea another person needs to hear.
And yes, even when you’re feeling tender…
Being a pillar of peace is still an option: your belly can feel full of butterflies, yet you can’t breathe without noticing your spine, so stand tall.
Responsibility can be easeful: your shoulders may feel the weight of the world, yet when you remember why you’re here, your devotion comes back online.
Clarity can move through at lightening speed: your mind might feel foggy, yet the moment you begin to take even the slightest of rightful action, your experience of reality can swiftly change.
And your state of being is always a choice: so allow yourself to feel the paradox of being human.
YOU’RE NOT BEHIND. YOU’RE LIVING.
And you’re doing a damn good job.
